Before I started this Substack, The Healing Hype, I had a regular ole Substack that I used as a basic newsletter before people even really knew what Substack was! I stopped writing there and shifted to an email marketing platform at the end of 2019.
But it’s time to revive that Substack (which I kept because I couldn’t let go of nisha.substack.com)!
In this revived Substack re-named, (teehee), I’ll be reviewing memoirs while I write my own! So if you love reading about gut punching stories of deep personal reflection and you wanna follow my writing journey as a way to inspire you own creativity, subscribe to get these memoir reviews and updates!
My memoir (for now) centers around the themes of enoughness, being a daughter of South Asian immigrants, and my mother wound. Some of the memoirs I review will have these themes, and some will be about totally different themes. I’m using Memoirs of a Nisha to be a place to study the craft of memoir, reflect, and decide what I will (or won’t) incorporate into my own memoir.
Check out my first post, “Welcome to Memoirs of a Nisha!” where I share the first book I’m reviewing. You can also subscribe below.
At this point, the purpose of the The Healing Hype is to serve as an archive since I’m no longer actively writing here. I’m sending you this post through this space because you subscribed to read my work, so in case you still want to read my writing, read about my writing, or read about memoir writing, you still can. Thx byeeeee!
