[Nisha’s Greatest Hits! (free trial)] On Urgency: What’s the desire behind the desire?

So I've been thinking about how time and urgency and the structures that are created around them like capitalism, white supremacy, holidays, the calendar, all of these structures that are around that, influence our desires. So I had desires for how I wanted my January to look in terms of things I wanted to offer and how I wanted to work or what my schedule would be like. And then I started doing some stuff. I started doing Human Design readings, and I realized that I want to invest more time in that. So that's gonna shift my “urgency”, right? And I realized that what my desire is has a desire behind it. So what's my desire behind my desire? If my desire is to get this thing out by January, like, whatever that might be…Why do I want to? What’s the desire behind that? Because ultimately, when I start getting in process with something, I start seeing that oh, okay, well, when I'm in this process, I'm starting to look at this timeline a lot differently. So I don't think that there is anything right or wrong necessarily about saying like, “Oh, I have to do this like then.” I think it's more about discernment for when that timeline shifts, and how we might shame ourselves for when that timeline shifts, as opposed to just saying, “Oh, hey, you know what, this works for me better.” So I just wanted to talk about that because I think urgency really affects our nervous systems and really affects how we communicate with other people, how we project our urgency and our stress and anxiety on other people and how we also shame ourselves for a certain sense of urgency. So I think it would be really helpful for everyone ever to just reconsider this and think about the ways that we are, you know, imagining what we feel is urgent and what is the desire behind that urgency? What is the desire behind that desire to do something in a certain way? So that's all I got. This is the last public Nisha’s Greatest Hits of 2021.
